High Torque NiTi Arches may provide an effective means of treatment for experssing torque to anterior teeth when the torquing forces of stainless steel are too high and 0 degree torque NiTi is too slow or not effective. As NiTi requires significant stress to achieve effective forces, High Torque NiTi is made with 35 degrees of torque. Engaging this arch requires you to increase the stress levels, thus generating higher but gentle torquing forces to the anterior. Unwanted posterior torque may be eliminated with two bird beak pliers.
Heat Activated NiTi High Torque Arches resist de-torquing, but may be easily engaged in the mouth by chilling the wire. This wire may reduce your treatment times significantly. Use two bird beak pliers to straighten the arches wherever you do not need torque.
